What is covered?

In summary, we'll cover you if

• You lost assets to a scam in a confirmed transaction

• You were using Pocket Universe and saw the pop up for the transaction where the loss occurred

• You had the $20K insurance coverage switched on

• You didn't see a warning (the Pocket Universe popup showed that you were not going to lose those assets)

You need to have seen a Pocket Universe popup, which means that we only cover transactions on chains that we support.

How much is covered?

We cover 100% of the value of assets lost up to $20,000.

What isn't covered?

We do not cover asset losses results from

• Compromised seed phrases or private keys
  e.g. from malware or typing your seedphrase to someone

  
  

• Rugpulled projects
  e.g. where the founders leave or pull liquidity

  
  

• Hacked Protocols
  e.g. where the protocol or smart contract has a vulnerability and funds are stolen through an exploit

  
  

• Honeypots or malicious tokens

  • e.g. where the token didn't behave as you expected.

    
    

• Losses that are not from your wallet (usually from a deployed smart contract)

  e.g. from a smart contract you deploy or from a Gnosis Safe

  
  

• Ignored warnings in Pocket Universe

  e.g. you continued with the transaction despite getting a scam warning

  
  

• Pocket Universe didn't pop up

  e.g. you disabled the extension, or installed another extension that interferes with our popup, or used a different device

  
  

• Lost funds from before using Pocket Universe

  e.g. you lose funds a year ago before using our tool or this program

  
  

• Losses were on an unsupported chain

  e.g. you lost funds on AVAX when AVAX was not supported by Pocket Universe

  
  

• Losses occurred when $20K insurance was toggled off

  e.g. you opted out of insurance before the losses happened

  
  

• Loss to a non-malicious contract or address due to human error

  e.g. you sent funds to the USDC contract instead of the intended recipient

• The price went down

  e.g. you aren't so good at trading and the token price went down (once again)

  
  

In addition, we reserve the right to reject coverage claims in cases where

• there is evidence of the assets not being lost to a 3rd party scammer

  e.g. you set up a scam for yourself

  
  

• there is evidence of the assets being lost to an authorized internal party

  e.g. your friend uses your PC and steals your funds

  
  

• there is insufficient evidence for assets being lost

  e.g. Etherscan link unable to be provided

  
  

• there is insufficient evidence for Pocket Universe being used

  e.g. no simulation result from that wallet on our servers

How are cases evaluated?

After you've lodged your case in a Discord ticket, this is what typically happens

1. Gathering evidence

   • You provide details on the loss (addresses, links, screenshots of wallet history, browser history etc.)

   • We check your Pocket Universe popup history in our server logs to confirm that you saw our popup for that transaction

2. Evaluation

   • We check to see if your case meets the conditions mentioned above in "What is covered?":

     • You lost assets to a scam in a confirmed transaction

     • You were using Pocket Universe and saw the pop up for the transaction where the loss occurred

     • You had the $20k insurance switched on

     • You didn't see a warning or simulation results showing that you were going to lose those assets

   • For certain claims, we may ask you to join us on a video call and/or KYC, to comply with rules from insurance companies we are partnered with.

3. Conclusion

   • If your case qualifies, we'll send you 100% of the value you lost (market price at the time of loss), up to $20,000 in USDC

   • If it doesn't qualify, we'll explain what happened in your case and why it doesn't qualify

     • e.g. it's likely your seedphrase was compromised because X,Y,Z and no Pocket Universe popups were seen

Expect an initial response from the team within 24-48hrs. Total timeframe until a conclusion varies based on the investigation required for your case and your response times.

Does Pocket Universe charge a fee for this coverage?

Pocket Universe charges a flat 0.8% fee on a small subset of swap transactions for the security checks and $20k insurance services.

There are also network fees (commonly called gas) associated with any transaction done, of which Pocket Universe receives none.

How do I disable the coverage?

If you don't want the $20k coverage, you can toggle it off in the extension settings. Click the extension icon in your browser extensions tray.

Can I get more than $20k coverage?

Yes - please reach out to the team by opening a Discord ticket.

Other exclusions

We are unable to provide this service to parties based in Afghanistan, Belarus, Burundi, Congo, Cuba, Eritrea, Guinea Bissau, Iraq, Iran, Liberia, Mali, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, the following regions of Ukraine: Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk Regions, Venezuela, Yemen or any who are subject to sanctions by the United Kingdom Government. This is due to our insurance provider.
